Ghyll scrambling in Stonycroft Ghyll - Featured on BBC1's Country File!

Stonycroft was probably the original Ghyll Scramble, and has been used by groups for at least 30 years - and is the ideal introduction to this amazing sport!

NEW for 2017! Although we have always provided free photos of your activity as standard, we now offer the option of hiring our GoPro equipped helmet for only £15. We will then send you a CD of the footage for you to enjoy at your leisure. Please say at the time of booking if you want this extra service.

Impossible to describe and impossible to forget! Ghyll scrambling is always one of the favourites and involves descending a Lake District mountain stream under the safe guidance of our experienced instructors. The descent will include slides, dives and even jumping down waterfalls and is guaranteed to have you buzzing with adrenaline by the finish. Your instructor will guide you down the ghyll ensuring your safety and maximising your enjoyment of a truly unique experience!

As standard Mobile Adventure provides all our clients with high quality, well fitting wetsuits, as well as spray jackets and helmets. This means you can enjoy this amazing activity safe in the knowledge that you are wearing the best gear possible.

Smaller Groups For groups of 4 or less, Mobile Adventure will aim to include 'the gorge' - a section that requires the use of ropes to descend safely. (Due to time constraints, this is not offered to larger groups.) This section will only be tackled if the instructor deems it safe with due regard to the water level and group speed. We are currently the only company to offer this as standard, and it makes an amazing ghyll even more unforgettable!
