Lake District Canoeing

Canoeing is one of Keswicks most popular activities and with Mobile Adventure you can guarantee your canoeing will be 'splash-tastic'! The beauty of canoeing, also known as open boating, is the ability to effotlessly travel with all your supplies in one vessel making canoeing great for both adventure and fun!

For beginners Derwent Water or Thirlmere provide the perfect introduction to this sedate form of transport. When seen from your canoe in the middle of the Lake, the size and grandeur of the mountains is put in a whole new perspective, and the peace and quiet of the surroundings can be truly appreciated. Canoeing can indeed truly take your breath away.

If you've already got experience of canoeing then why not join us on a bigger challenge - either a one day white water trip or join us on a majestic 3 day trip down the River Tweed. What happens in a canoeing session?

By the end of the session we aim to provide you with the skills necessary to control your open boat canoe as you journey across Derwent Water.

After a short warm up and some coaching in basic canoe strokes a journey across the lake will take in some of the most breathtaking sights of the Lake District. Paddling skills will be coached in a fun environment, involving games as well as personal coaching.

Canoeing and kayaking both provide you with an opportunity to get closer to nature and in many cases canoeing will enable you to be able to travel to, and see sights accessible for only a small number of the Lake District's visitors. Indeed the beauty of canoeing is it's abilitiy to allow you to enter the natural world that surrounds us, without disturbing it's peace and tranquility.
