Yorkshire 3 Peaks

Not to be confused with The National 3 Peaks Challenge (which we are no longer involved in - due to these reasons), this adventure is every bit as tough. It involves climbing Pen y Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough as part of a 23.5 mile circuit. In order to be accepted into the Yorkshire 3 peaks club this should be completed within 12 hours. A high level of fitness is therefore necessary along with decent mountain equipment, as conditions on the tops can change rapidly, making navigating around the route a challenge in itself!

Typical challenge itinerary

8am
Leave Horton-in-Ribblesdale.
9.30am
Summit of Pen-y-ghent (691m).
1pm
Summit Whernside (728m).
5pm
Summit Ingleborough (723m).
8pm
Arrive back at Horton-in-Ribblesdale.

Ways to complete the challenge...

Mobile Adventure offer 3 ways to take on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge:-

Guide only.

We will meet you at Horton-in-Ribblesdale and guide you around the Yorkshire 3 Peaks route, setting a pace to ensure that you complete the challenge within the 12 hours. You will need to provide all your own walking equipment, food and arrange transportation to and from Horton. If one of your group drops out, they will need to make their own way back to Horton.

Guide and support vehicle (Standard Package).

This is our most popular option, and again we will meet you at Horton, and guide you around the route as above. In addition we will have a support vehicle which will be available at all times to pick up any walkers who need to drop out. The vehicle will also meet you half way with hot drinks and snacks provided by Mobile Adventure, as well as allowing you to change into dry socks / tops etc at this point.

The full package.

We will provide accommodation the night before and after the event, to allow you to celebrate and recover! On the first night, we will give you a detailed briefing so that you know exactly what is coming up. After guiding you around the route [with the support vehicle as above] we will return you to your accommodation where you can shower and relax before enjoying your celebration meal.

Package Pricing

Walking Guide Only  Standard Package  Full Package

8 Clients£50 per head£90 per head£254 per head
 20 Clients £40 per head£50 per head£230 per head

Whichever option you choose, by using our experienced mountain leaders, you will have peace of mind in knowing that the navigation around the route is under control. All our guides are qualified first aiders, used to dealing with any sprains and blisters that sometimes occur on this sort of event. The other advantage is that they will set a suitable pace for the challenge, removing the temptation to set off at a blinding speed, only to burn out halfway round!
